LAB Week® Curriculum
Sunday – Team Building & Leadership Skills
Students are placed into their five-person business group and start working together through team-building exercises. They learn about the various executive positions and elect the officers of their companies. They are introduced to the online simulation program and start building their companies.
Wednesday – International Business
The students have an opportunity to explore other cultures and the benefits and risks of doing business in foreign countries. While on a field trip to the Lubrizol corporate headquarters, the students participate in video conferences with employees throughout the world.
Friday – Entrepreneurship
Students get to meet entrepreneurs who share their successes, failures and challenges. They also learn about local resources for starting their own businesses. An awards ceremony is held at the end of the day, recognizing the students’ achievements and how well their companies performed in top earnings and market share.

Business Professional Female:
Conservative dress, suit jacket with matching slacks, or skirt with blouse; Dress shoes, flat/low/medium heel
Business Professional Male:
Conservative suit or sports jacket with coordinating trousers and belt; Long-sleeved dress shirt and tie; Dark socks/coordinating socks; Dress shoes
Business Casual Female:
Polo/golf/oxford shirts; Chinos in khaki or dark colors; Casual skirts and tops; Flats or low-heeled closed-toed shoes
Business Casual Male:
Polo/golf/oxford shirts; Chinos in khaki or dark colors; Casual closed-toed shoes
Casual Attire for Female & Male:
Your choice, but keep in mind that you should only wear clothes that would be acceptable to wear in a high school setting; Tennis/athletic closed-toed shoes; A jacket or sweater in case of inclement weather
What Not to Wear
Attire not considered business casual: Jeans, hip-huggers, low-riders, tight or short skirts, short shorts, t-shirts or any shirt with a “creative or suggestive” logo, tank tops, bare midriffs, flip-flops or slides.
