Management and Labor
Throughout the day, the students are led to an understanding
of wages, fringe benefits and professional ethics that impact the day-to-day
management of a company. The student-companies have to create a mission statement
for their companies and are then given scenarios dealing with issues from
employee strikes to tax fraud. The goal is to have the student-companies deal
with these issues while making sure to follow their mission statements. The
evening’s session, which has always been kept a secret, places the student-companies
in another intense situation that forces them to think on their feet and apply
all that they have learned this far.
